Sophia Hill

A twenty-something year old with an unapologetic passion for food—the flavours that make you pause, the genius behind every dish, and the stories rooted in recipes and their ingredients. Born and bred in London, but with a restless hunger to explore, to eat, and to uncover the world one plate at a time.

Armed with an MA in Broadcast Journalism from City University and a BA in Modern Languages (Italian and German) from the University of Exeter, I’m on a mission: to build a career at the crossroads of food, travel, and lifestyle storytelling. By day, I’m a TV producer at a major British news channel, juggling the chaos and craft of Breakfast and midmorning programming, with some news bulletin presenting here and there. By night, I’m dreaming up the next great meal—or the next great story to tell.

Not Sophia Loren is where I share my world—an eclectic mix of topics, often seasoned with all things Italian. Venice stole my heart during my studies, and it’s a love affair I’m in no rush to end. Hopefully, you’ll indulge me in that.

And yes, there’s no ignoring the Sophia Loren’s impact. Studying Italian cinema, I fell under the spell of her charm, grit, and relentless drive. She’s more than an icon—she’s a muse. Her ethos fuels this site, this blog, this persona. This is my small homage to the legend herself.
